This project is quite a small London garden design. Aimed at making rather a narrow space more user friendly.
I have used an excellent imitation lawn as the surrounding trees and buildings cast the lawn area into shade for much of the day, save for one corner, too small to merit true turf. |
It has the feel of a courtyard garden design as all the ground materials can take foot traffic. The planting in the Slate shingle area, leading up to the raised beds at the back and sides, gives the garden a real sense of depth, in spite of its size. All the plants are vigorous and robust, needing little maintenance: giving the user maximum pleasure for minimum effort.
